Appcelerator, a venture-backed startup developing an open source platform for building rich web applications, is looking for a strong PHP backend engineer with SaaS/Cloud experience.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain core components of our platform.
- Help architect a highly transactional, distributed system for large scale.
- Work with our platform team to manage and maintain our hardware clusters.
- Plan and build our IT infrastructure to meet the demands of our software systems.
- Transform business requirements into working solutions.
Qualifications
Really, you need to kill it. Here are some guidelines:

- BA/BS in CS, MS is preferred.
- 4-6+ years developing scalable, high-availability web-based applications.
- Expertise in data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
- Tack-sharp analytical abilities.
- Understanding of scalability and performance issues of high volume web applications.
- Experience with cloud computing a plus (Amazon's EC2 & S3, Google's App Engine, etc).
- Personable, with superlative analytical and communication skills.
- A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
